where can i listen to audio dramas from the merry beggars? what does it cost?

The Merry Beggars' entire content library is available for free on themerrybeggars.com, the Relevant Radio app, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.

it looks like you haven't produced a series for my favorite saint yet. what do i do?

Contact us! We'd love to hear about a new Saint that you'd like to see a series about. While we can't guarantee we're able to produce a series for every one of the Church's many Saints, your input helps us know which series to prioritize for writing, recording, and producing.

How can i get involved with the merry beggars?

If you are interested in auditioning for one of our shows, click on 'Audition' in the dropdown menu at the top of this page. We record in-person in the greater Chicagoland area, though some remote recordings are a possibility.

If you are a Catholic writer, artist, or creative interested in taking part behind the scenes, contact us via the form at the top of this page and send us some of your work! We are always looking for people to join in the adventure. At this time we are not accepting original scripts to produce, though writers are encouraged to submit writing samples.

are the merry beggars' programs available for classroom usage for educators?

Absolutely! Because all our content is free and totally available to the public, we encourage educators, whether in schools, homeschooling, or in religious education settings, to feel free to utilize our programming. If you are an educator, we would love to hear from you! Use the 'contact us' form above and share how you are using The Saints, On The Night Train, or A Christmas Carol in your classroom.

I'm a professional voiceover actor interested in your productions, but cannot attend in person. Do you do any remote recordings?

We value highly the benefits of in-person recording. Not only does it allow us to capture a uniform sound, but it also builds a camaraderie within the cast. We also fully understand, however, that there are some instances where recording remotely in a professional voiceover booth is the best option for everyone involved. In cases where an actor is located far away from our studio, we simply ask that you use your professional setup and include in writing your mic specifications when submitting your audition. If recording your audition via smartphone or another quick-and-easy mic setup, you may be asked to resubmit.

I would love to audition but I don't have any experience. What should I do?

Everyone has to start somewhere! We simply ask that you follow the audition guidelines when submitting. Use your natural voice, and have fun! If you don't hear back from us, it's okay! Our casting team is always searching for very specific voices, and and so don't get discouraged if you are not cast.

What is the rehearsal and recording process like for actors?

Typically, our process consists of online rehearsals and in-person recording. The dates and times of rehearsals will be included in the formal offer sent out by our casting department. You will receive scripts and production details in advance of the production dates in order to prepare for rehearsals. Unless otherwise arranged, our recordings with take place in person in the northwest Chicagoland area. Does The Merry Beggars have remote positions available?

For studio roles, in-person availability is a necessity. However, the nature of some roles within the company is such that they can be conducted more efficiently remotely. We do our best to find the right fit for every role, regardless of location, so don't let distance discourage you from applying to an open position.
